This replica reproduces the prop knife from 1984's DUNE, perhaps most memorably capturing the knife fight scene between Paul Atreides and Feyd-Rautha.

In Dune lore, a crysknife is made from the tooth of the sandworm, or Shai-Hulud, sacred to the Fremen of Arrakis.

Each young Fremen is given a crysknife upon completing a ritual confirming their adulthood, and legend states that a crysknife cannot be seen by outsiders, nor can it be re-sheathed until it has drawn blood.

Several props were made for the movie: a hero prop and a special effects prop, which had an covert “blood letting” feature allowing stage blood to “appear” when the blade caused an on-screen wound. This necessitated some changes to the blade geometry and handle size. Each prop is therefore slightly different, though both were made from epoxy resin.

Factory Entertainment’s team examined original props and created a 3D model that perfectly captures the nuances of each prop, and blends them into a single execution. Each replica is made from durable bone colored epoxy resin and then hand-finished and weathered to achieve the correct on-screen look. This meticulous process means that, just like the original props, no two pieces are exactly alike.

Each officially licensed replica comes with a custom display stand, a numbered metal plaque, and a booklet with a certificate of authenticity so you can proudly display this iconic piece of cinematic history.
