The Bushman survival knives are hard to beat in this price category! Unlike most knives with hollow handles, there is no connection point or seam between the blade and the handle that would require mechanical fasteners. Instead, the blades and handles of Bushman knives are cold forged from a single piece of SK-5 carbon steel. The knives are then professionally heat-treated and hardened to a Rockwell hardness of 54 HRC. In Cold Steel® tests, the transition between the blade and handle was able to withstand pressure of over two tons.

Each Bushman blade has been carefully sharpened and then hand-drawn and sharpened to a very keen edge. The hollow handles offer space for survival aids and can be extended with various handle extensions to optimize reach or leverage, or to be able to throw the knife more easily.

They are available with two different blade designs (standard and Bowie). In both versions, the blades are fully curved, making them ideal for skinning and a variety of bushcraft tasks. Both versions also include a Secure-Ex® sheath with a high-quality Auermetall fire starter in the scope of delivery. Strike it with the back of your knife and light a crackling campfire in no time!

SK-5 Carbon Steel
Japanese SK-5 carbon steel has been traditionally used in the manufacture of a variety of hand tools such as chisels and woodworking saws. Due to its great universal toughness, excellent edge retention, and excellent abrasion resistance, this steel has proven itself in many countries.
