FGX Boot Blade II boot knife, Cold Steel CST-92FBB

Most of the super-lightweight knives in the new Nightshade™ series are detailed replicas of existing popular Cold Steel blades. Some are completely new creations.

The blades are made from Griv-Ex™, the ultimate in fiberglass-reinforced plastic. Griv-Ex™ is even tougher than Zy-Ex™, the super-tough material used in previous Cold Steel models. Each blade is also heat- and UV-stabilized and therefore weather-resistant.

Among other things, these knives are characterized by their unique, deeply grooved handles. The grip rods were straight with Kray-Ex™ overmolding. The use of Kray-Ex™ in the design of knife handles is a Cold Steel innovation from the early 1980s. This material offers a first-class surface that is easy to grip and is not uncomfortable, cold, or wet. It will never rust, warp, crack or splinter, even in the harshest conditions.
