All Cold Steel® Tomahawks are also differentially hardened: the edge and the striking surface of the hammer are fully hardened so they can be sharpened, while the rest of the head remains softer to absorb blows and impacts.

Spike Hawk, flat texture finish. Cold Steel's® Spike Hawk has a forged, differentially hardened blade and a tough steel spike. This unusual axe is very popular among sport throwers, as it can penetrate deep into wooden targets with both the blade and the spike, thus doubling the chances of a successful throw! A handmade leather sheath, in which both the spike and the blade can be safely stored, is available separately.
