Wooden two-handed sword 600598
Wooden two-handed sword 600598
Wooden practice weapons could withstand heavy wear and tear while preserving steel weapons for battles to come. A wooden sword was also useful for another reason: if it made contact with another person, it would not seriously injure them as it would if they were practicing with a steel sword. This, combined with the wear and tear on valuable steel blades, made wooden swords indispensable instruments for teaching fencing.
Our practice weapons are handcrafted from sturdy, fully seasoned hardwood. With contrasting wooden guard and pommel, they are strong enough to meet the needs of the swordsman. The sword's design represents the most representative bladed weapons from the 12th to the 15th centuries.
