Paul Chen Throwing Franziska Axe
The Franziska, named for its Franconian origins, was used by the Franks as both a throwing weapon and for hand-to-hand combat.
The elegant shape of this axe is legendary, and the upward-sweeping top blade point and downward-curving edge could easily penetrate chainmail.
This Franziska, crafted by Paul Chen in the Hanwei forge, features a drop-forged axe head with a gray weathered finish, as well as a hardwood handle that is thickened at the top, ensuring the axe head is securely held. As with the originals, the handle is also slightly curved backward to increase the axe's sticking potential when thrown.
From the Hanwei company.
