What happens if I carry an airgun on the street?

If the police intercept you carrying an airgun replica pistol or an airsoft replica on the street without a proper case and without a justified reason (going to the shooting range), the sanction is immediate. It is considered a serious infraction against public safety. • Displaying the weapon in public: From €601 to €30,000 (depending on the severity and alarm caused).

• Use in an unauthorized place: From €601 to €3,000, plus permanent withdrawal of the permit and confiscation of the replica.

What happens if I carry an airsoft gun on the street?

For legal purposes, the police do not initially distinguish whether your airsoft replica fires plastic or lead pellets; they see it as a 4th category weapon. If you are stopped at a checkpoint:

• You must carry it in the trunk, in its case.

• Without ammunition in the magazine.

• With the invoice or weapons card at hand.

If you carry it in the glove compartment or under the seat, it is considered "ready for use," which is an infraction that leads to the confiscation of the equipment and a considerable financial fine.
